Spring 2026 Auditions


Auditions for our Spring productions of Guys and Dolls Jr. (ages 12+) and Oz (ages 7+) will be:
March 31st and April 1st, 2026

Shows:
Oz the Musical Jr.— Ages 7+: Performances (No Conflicts): May 28 - June 7
A classic adaption of the classic "The Wizard of Oz", this bright musical is charged with a bundle of wonderful songs and thrill after thrill...  like the escape from the Fighting Trees and encountering the enchanted poppies.  Eventually, Glinda the Good Witch helps Dorothy defeat the evil witch and her winged monkeys.  The great and powerful wizard grants Dorothy’s friends their wishes and of course, helps Dorothy return to Kansas.

Guys & Dolls Jr.— Ages 12+: Performances (No Conflicts): June 18 - June 28
Guys and Dolls JR. follows gambler as he tries to find the cash to set up the biggest game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck. Meanwhile, his girlfriend laments that they've been engaged for fourteen years without  getting married. Fellow gambler is hit up for the dough all while falling in love with a missionary. 

Audition Dates for both shows:
March 31 & April 1— 4:30-8:00pm

Callback and Dance Calls: 
Guys & Dolls Jr.-- Thurs. April 2 time TBD between 4:30-8pm
Oz the Musical Jr.-- Fri. April 3 time TBD between 4:30-8pm 

Possible Callback/Dance Call: Saturday, April 4 — TBD between 1:30pm-6pm

​The Audition Process:
 1) complete an audition intake form 
 2) either sign up for an in-person audition time (below) or upload your video audition through the audition intake form by the stated deadline.

​​For your audition, please prepare a short monologue (30-60 seconds is great) and a verse and a chorus of a Broadway song to be sung a capella.

What to Expect at Auditions

Auditions
Initial auditions will be held in-person at The Redmond Academy of Theatre Arts, usually in Studio C (also known as the Black Box Theatre), there are usually 3-5 directors at the auditions, and we will also record your audition to help us with casting decisions. Or if you can't make it in person, you can submit an updated Audition Intake Form and send us your video audition as an unlisted YouTube video. 

Callbacks and Dance Call
​The Callbacks and the Dance Call will be held in-person or if you are unable to make it, we will send you a video of the callback materials and you can send a video of you performing the materials. The full schedule will be sent via email after the initial auditions. 

What happens after auditions

Performers
  • Casting decisions will be made by the directors.
  • You will be called and informed of the casting decision for you.
  • You will be offered the opportunity to accept or decline the role.
  • Full conflict calendars will be shared and you will be invited to the cast and parent kick-off meeting.
  • Students 18 and under who are not high school graduates pay $675/student for tuition.
  • Participants 18+ (who are high school graduates) have no tuition and instead take a commitment to help sell 10 tickets/person.
  • Rehearsals start!

Families
  • Tuition for the productions is $675. The tuition includes approximately 100 hours of instruction in voice, acting, dance and staging, 4-8 performance opportunities, discounted class benefits, scripts, and all costumes and props.
  • Cast families are expected to contribute ten (10) hours of volunteer time to support the success of the experience for all. Buy out options are available.

The Redmond Academy team works hard to make this a welcoming and approachable process for young and aspiring actors.
