Position Summary
The Redmond Academy of Theatre Arts is seeking a highly organized and dynamic Business Manager to oversee a wide range of operational responsibilities. This role will focus on building the processes and policies that will equip this organization to succeed through its next stage of growth. The Business Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning and continued success of the academy.
This is an onsite role. The Business Manager must be onsite a minimum of 15 hours per week during hours of operation.

Principal Responsibilities
- General Business
- Manage the nonprofit business status with the state and well as our eligibility to receive donations with the U.S. and WA state governments.
- Create processes, roles, and responsibilities for overseeing all mail and email.
- Attend Board meetings as needed.
- Lead the rights and royalty process for all shows.
- Create and document the processes used to produce classes, camps, and mainstage shows.
- HR and Employee Management:
- Complete and inventory of employee policies and complete any missing policies. Create an employee handbook.
- Manage employee onboarding to ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
- Create and manage an onsite staff schedule ensuring senior staff coverage during all business hours.
- Establish an annual performance and comp review process.
- Maintain personnel files.
- Act as the payroll manager. Document payroll hours, verify information, and manage the payroll process.
- Supervise front desk workers, responsibilities, and scheduling ensuring front desk coverage during hours of operation.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Establish and help to maintain the necessary reporting and regular staff meetings to support two-way communication needed between leadership roles and the Board.
- Assist with mid and end-of-year reporting (financial, staff, BoD) requirements.
- Provide regular business status and updates to the staff and board.
- Policy and Procedure Management:
- Manage and document all business policies and procedures.
- Ensure policies and procedures are followed for maintaining an orderly and presentable business space.
- Studio Maintenance:
- Put in place staff responsibilities to ensure that the studio is regularly cleaned and maintained.
- Coordinate with the Artistic Director and Board on any work that needs to be done to the studio. Oversee the contracting process.
- Manage inventory process and oversee purchases.
- Responsible for inventory and maintenance of equipment.
- Space and Event Coordination:
- Establish processes to manage the scheduling of studio and rental space ensuring coordinating between classes, camps, productions, and birthday parties.
- Manage contracts and scheduling for renters utilizing the Academy’s facilities, ensuring bookings are accurate and well-organized. Work with the Artistic and Educational Director to plan space that may be rented ensuring that Redmond Academy classes are the priority.
- Vendor and Relationship Management:
- Manage relationships with vendors.
- Escalation and Conflict Resolution:
- Serve as the central point of contact for board, family, and employee escalations.

Qualifications
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in software tools such as Microsoft Office applications and preferably in Classbug, QuickBooks, and social media platforms.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and professional skills.
