Auditions

Auditions are now open for our summer shows!

We’re so excited to travel back to the Renaissance with Something Rotten and take a heartwarming stroll through the world of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown!
Let's start with the basics before we jump into the details. To sign up for an audition, you will need to 1) complete an audition intake form and 2) either sign up for an in-person audition time or upload your video audition through the audition intake form by 11:59pm on Sunday May 18th.

For your audition, please prepare a short monologue (30-60 seconds is great) and a verse and a chorus of a Broadway song to be sung a capella.

What to Expect at Auditions

Auditions
Initial auditions will be held in-person at The Redmond Academy of Theatre Arts, usually in Studio C (also known as the Black Box Theatre), there are usually 3-5 directors at the auditions, and we will also record your audition to help us with casting decisions. Or if you can't make it in person, you can submit an updated Audition Intake Form and send us your video audition as an unlisted YouTube video.

Callbacks and Dance Call
The Callbacks and the Dance Call will be held in-person or if you are unable to make it, we will send you a video of the callback materials and you can send a video of you performing the materials. The full schedule will be sent via email after the initial auditions.

What happens after auditions

Performers
  • Casting decisions will be made by the directors.
  • You will be called and informed of the casting decision for you.
  • You will be offered the opportunity to accept or decline the role.
  • Full conflict calendars will be shared and you will be invited to the cast and parent kick-off meeting.
  • Students 18 and under who are not high school graduates pay $675/student for tuition.
  • Participants 18+ (who are high school graduates) have no tuition and instead take a commitment to help sell 10 tickets/person.
  • Rehearsals start!

Families
  • Tuition for the productions is $675. The tuition includes approximately 100 hours of instruction in voice, acting, dance and staging, 4-8 performance opportunities, discounted class benefits, scripts, and all costumes and props.
  • Cast families are expected to contribute ten (10) hours of volunteer time to support the success of the experience for all. Buy out options are available.

The Redmond Academy team works hard to make this a welcoming and approachable process for young and aspiring actors.
