The Redmond Academy Novice, Apprentice, and Associates programs are for the dedicated musical theatre student who may also be considering any aspect of Musical Theatre as a future career choice and wants to learn more about all parts of the Musical Theatre art form. Training will be on Saturdays from 10:00am - 1:00pm. Classes will include Musical Theatre Dance, Singing, and Acting plus additional workshops scheduled throughout the session. There will also be a required technical theatre aspect involved. The student will decide which technical aspect they would like to fulfill each session. Technical choices include sets, props, costumes, make-up and hair, asst. stage management, asst. director, asst. music director, and asst. choreographer. We encourage our students to audition for shows each session, but will also expect them to participate in a technical position as well.
Our Novice program is for upper Elementary age students and has fewer requirements than our Apprentice program for our Middle School students. The Associates program will also include a play writing element and will work toward presentation of the material they create. Saturday classes will include 1 hour of Dance, 1 hour of Singing, and 1 hour of Acting at the students' level. This is an audition required class and will also include an interview process before enrollment. |
